Driving into Redstreak Campground in Kootenay National Park, BC, yesterday we saw a large herd of BIG horned sheep. A flashing roadside sign warned of them.
Bear warnings everywhere with some closures due to mama bears with cubs, so even with bear bells we did not wander from our campsite.
Lots of German travelers in Canadream motor homes kept us company last night. Leaving the campground this morning, we saw 2 prong horn sheep and then not one, but 2 bears. They were happily munching the grass and flowers along the road side
.
Weather was dry this morning, but it's raining now. Lots of snow in these Rocky Mountains!

Into Canada
Catch up photos:
Parking area for Fishermen at the truck stop near the 7 Feathers RV Park where we attended a rally in Canyonville, OR.
Lovely Eagle sculpture at the 7 Feathers Casino where we had a group dinner - check out that blue sky!
Nearby Masonic Cemetery where folks were getting it ready for Memorial Day.
This is where the alley cats hang out in town - I counted 6 soaking up the last of the day's sun. The owner of a local antique store rescues cats and finds homes for them. His son said they currently have 31 cats, but are very particular who they let adopt them.
Horse sculptures at scenic view stop on the way to Grand Coulee Dam.
Grand Coulee Dam - the largest hydro-producing dam in the U.S.
Snow-covered mountain view with big rain clouds coming into Cranbrook, BC. They have lots of water up here; I saw horse stalls completely covered with water and a satellite dish just above the waterline!
Strange find while getting a few groceries - a Google search shows this is used for Hungarian cabbage rolls and Russian cabbage soup; Kissel Cabbage is found in Western Canada and Minnesota. Will be on the lookout for these gastronomic treats!
This is the view of Elizabeth Lake in Cranbrook, BC, from our motorhome RV spot - lots of Canadian geese with their goslings (that mama must be a surrogate) and a rainbow which has been a double, then single, then disappears then reappears.
We left the town of Sandpoint, ID, today and made it across the border with no issues. They asked if we had a gun (probably flagged from last year's crossing) and thank goodness, my DH did not bring it this time! It was raining off and on all morning and we saw some very serious clouds on the drive into Cranbrook, BC.
Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! We missed decorating family graves this year.
